Travel to San Diego

We had a chance to see Kevin at his new townhouse, then to meet with his roommates. (forgot to take pictures with them!)

It was a quick and short visit at this time before Kevin’s deployment. Wishing him all the best and hoping for a successful journey!

Here are some pictures we took during our visit:

Kevin’s Visit 01/26/2024 – 02/08/2024

Kevin made a whopping 2,900 miles travel from Goose Creek, South Carolina to Boulder City, Nevada between 01/23/2024 – 01/26/2024.

He started his journey after the moving track finished loading up his items around 4pm, drove through Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, then to Nevada. He encountered some severe storm in Mississippi and snow in New Mexico – yet he safely made to our house. You can guess how much I was worried!

His motorcycle was delivered a day after he arrived here, so he was able to enjoy two days of free riding through Lake Mead – to Overton and Valley of Fire.

We certainly enjoyed his visit.

He made another long drive to San Diego on 02/08/2024 to his new town home, shared with his two roommates (Heesh and Kirkpatrick – he always calls them in last names – military way).

His real work in Navy starts on 02/15/2024.

Indiana

We have not been posting recently – Just super busy every single day!

New and exciting change to me – and had a chance to visit in South Bend, Indiana!

Met with great people there.  Very green and humid, I even saw fog in the morning – what a change of weather!

My hair was just so puffed up everyday!

Away from home was pretty lonely – yet it made me appreciate my loving husband and my cutest kitty at home even more!

Christmas 2022

This year, Christopher joined our Christmas tradition at Margie’s!

She cooked fabulous Christmas Lasagna, Caeser Salad, and Garlic Bread. 🙂

In addition, for our Dessert, we assembled Cannolis using a pre-baked shells and pre-mixed cream, and Margie and I enjoyed making them!

All the ingredients for Lasagna and Cannolis came from Linda’s Italian Foods at Lake Havasu City – Highly recommended.

Everything was very tasty – I would like to make this as our Christmas Tradition!

Las Vegas Boulevard

We had a chance to stroll around a small part of Las Vegas Boulevard, when we visited Chicago Style Pizza Restaurant, Giordano’s.

Atmosphere was very festive, and a lot of out of towners were enjoying their Christmas holidays in Vegas.

We were able to visit Linq Promenade (a fun street filled with many stores and restaurants towards Linq Ferris Wheel) and also Conservatory at Bellagio.

Also, we were able to see the Bellagio Fountain show up close today 🙂 Fantastic!

Kevin finished the first part of Navy Nuclear Power School, called “A” School on Friday, 11/18/2022.

He received the Personal Excellence Award from the Commander of the school, how awesome!

Here is the Video posted on YouTube –

Congratulations, Kevin! we are very proud of your another accomplishment.

He just arrived here in Boulder City for Thanksgiving Liberty time for one week.

After his return to Goose Creek, South Carolina, he will have six weeks of temporary daily assignments around the school, then he will start the second half of the Nuclear Power School for another six months.  Wishing him a good luck on further advancements.

Naval Boot Camp Graduation

July 29, 2022 – Kevin successfully completed Navy Boot Camp at Great Lakes, Illinois for two month length basic training.  It was a rigorous, mentally and physically draining program.  I was able to attend a graduation program which was also broadcasted over YouTube and Navy website.  I am so proud of him for his diligence and accomplishment!  He is now officially an US Sailor!  Big “Hip Hip Hooray” to Kevin and all the graduates!  Great job, and wishing more success ahead for all of them! 🙂
