Front Porch

The front of the house is where we get evening shade.  It would be nice to have a covered porch on the house with a bistro table to enjoy the afternoon.  I was considering building this myself but this is a bit out of my expertise. Brian from Y-town construction put the plans together and started in September.  One obstacle was the city planner.  They will not allow any permits on this house until the unapproved carport is removed.  Nobody has complained about the carport in 30 years, but they are not allowed in the city.

Original picture from MLS. Notice old windows, old roof, swamp cooler.
Windows, Door, Roof replaced but the front of the house could still use some curb appeal.
Front Stoop is gone along with old stairs. A cinder block base with rebar was put in place. The big wall on the garage side is to keep people from falling into the drive way.
Poured concrete over the rebar. Surprisingly, no dog prints.
Framing is up
Finished product. Y-Town did a great job on this. I will probably trim out the posts, paint the floor, add some rope lights, get some furniture, add some flower beds, and finish the front yard.
