Lemongrass Tea

If you thought cold-brew coffee was the definition of delayed gratification, you need to grow your own tea.  When I was in Coleman prison in Florida, the pharmacist Jude introduced me to lemongrass tea.  He had bushes of it at his house.  He would cut off a large handful each morning and put it in a thermos of boiling water.  In a few hours he would open the thermos and the room would smell devine.  The most amazing tea I have ever had.

Go to your local asian grocery store to get large lemongrass stalks with as much root ball as possible.

Soak in water and put in peat moss – keep moist. Let the sun do it’s thing.

Wait….

Cut off 10 or so blades of grass, coil them up inside a thermos and fill with boiling water.

Let it steep for an hour or so.

If you are in a hurry you can boil them on a burner until you see it change color.

Dam Taco Truck

I come across so much awful Mexican food around the country in my travels.  I need to restore my faith by hitting up the taco truck in town.  The workers are super friendly and there is a good comradery among the other patrons as you wait for your order. Their street tacos are superb. So good that I have yet to get a picture of them.  I did remember to take a picture of the Big Dam Burrito.  I still have a few things on the menu I need to try.

3T’s Fathers Day Shoot

The 3 T’s coordinated a shooting extravaganza in the desert for Fathers Day.  3 Generations were there giving the younger folk some safety training.  A good variety of tools were available for all to try out.  The 110F heat really made it interesting.

The new Benelli kicks like a mule but I discovered that is because I was using 1600fps ammo.  They say to drop it to under 1200fps for best results.   Remington makes a lower recoil 1000fps slug for target shooting.  Who has this in stock is the big question

Zen Curry House

Everyone knows about Indian Curry.  Few know about Japanese curry houses.  We have a few in town and this is Zen over on Spring Mountain.  You have sticky rice instead of basmati.  The curry sauce is similar to masala and you can pick your spice level.  Then you build your own plate adding katsu, shrimp, eggs, or any of a dozen other options.  It is interesting and visually appealing.

Personally, I like Tomoko’s home made curry much better.  She adds lots of veggies and it has a different consistency.  Similar to how you can make a much better spaghetti sauce at home than at a restaurant by adding lots of ingredients.

It is worth a try if you want a change of pace.

Family Reunion

Rob’s sisters were visiting their mother, Margie, at Lake Havasu from 06/07/2021 to 06/11/2021.

On the last day, they were able to stop by at our place for a photo opportunity of three siblings all together!

Margie has been wanting to see them all at the same time.  They look super happy!

Sapporo Revolving Sushi

The three T’s group celebrated my belated birthday last night at Sapporo Revolving Sushi.

We all have such busy schedules yet they made time for me…. Thank you so much, you all are very sweet!

No food pictures at this time (we were too busy eating and talking), and I know I over-ate and the bill came out astronomical — my apologies everyone 🙁

We certainly had a wonderful time, and we are going to see each other very soon on Father’s Day <3

Conveyer belt will bring sushi and we just pick what we want! Keep the plates stacked up so it will be counted at the time of paying bill.
This is how much we ate (plus some more side dishes we ordered).
Pistachio Ice cream for dessert! Happy 52 years old to Me!
Make a wish~~~!
How cute are we?

China Bistro 1

The wonderful China Bistro re-opened this week.  We had our post wedding ceremony dinner there last year.  They were carryout only since the Fauci-funded-Wuhan-engineered-virus lockdown days.  Food loses a lot of panache when sitting in a sad styrofoam box so going in person is a real treat.  This gets my vote as best restaurant in BC.  We have literally had everything on the menu many times.  They also make many things not listed on the menu – just ask.

The only bad thing about China Bistro is you cant order Chinese food from anyplace else.  I travel a lot and when I order Chinese take out it is always a let down.

Hostess Angel just retired but Jennifer is now running the show with the same crew that knows how to make magic.
