Veterans Day
Volunteers spent the day putting up 16,000 flags at the Vet Cemetery. Lots of people there the night before. Some teenager was playing taps.  The local cemetery also had a few dozen flags flying. There are official ceremonies today along with the annual motorcycle ride from the dam.
Rants Plumbing
The old water heater finally died.  I tried flushing it out but the thermostat would either run WAY TOO HOT or NUTHIN AT ALL.  With all the crap in the water I bet the heating elements were calcified too, so a full replacement was in order.
Rants had one in stock and got it installed right away. I also had them replace a faucet in the sink and all the drain parts below that were leaking.
If I attempted to do all this myself I would never get it done and have leaks and break things and say lots of bad words out loud. I hate plumbing. I never get it right the first time.
So thanks to the crew at Rants for fixing all my broken stuff
Tomoko’s Birthday
Birthday weekend was very nice; no stress, just serenity, and great conversation with my handsome husband Rob and good friends.
I truly appreciate everyone’s love and kindness.
Carol is going to have an adventure very soon; and I cannot wait to hear all about it once she settles to a new life with her daughter’s family (Tomm will follow once he completes his work here).
Kevin’s Next Voyage
Kevin is currently attending the US Navy Boot Camp since 05/09/2022.
It was a hurry up and wait for all day long for both of us; typical military style.
He had waited for this day to come for over one year now – and finally his new voyage has begun.
Wishing him a very good luck and successful training – looking forward to seeing him in two months with a big smile on his face 🙂
Someone’s birthday is coming up
Someone’s birthday is coming up very soon and Hubby is already giving his warmest birthday wishes to his Wifey.
Kutani-yaki Kitty mug and Pusheen mug for my daily coffee and tea – because he knew I was looking for something solid but cute.
More events are coming up on next weekends and the following weekends 🙂
Front Yard Flower Bed
Front yard project is still going on; and our small flower bed try-outs are so far successful.
Hopefully they can survive the summer heat this year, and we will figure out what other types of plants will go well for our front yard.
Cactus
The cactus in the yard seem to be doing well and flowering up a storm.
Baby Dove
Momma Bird made a nest and sat in it straight for 3 weeks. One of the eggs was falling out so I got up on the ladder but the egg was cracked. There must have been one more egg in there as we saw a tiny eye peeping out. Baby bird spent a few days walking on the branch before flying away. Lulu was helping to encourage the little fella to fly. 
 
Mothers day bike ride
We went down to the lake to feed the ducks. Saw lots of bass. Stopped to check out the sheep on the way back.
